James Center for Student Success & Advising (JCSSA). This position supports the Director and Coordinator of Teaching Fellows and contributes to recruitment, retention, professional development, and program administration for Teaching Fellows across the Boone, Hickory, and online campuses.

Review LibGuides for accessibility

Identify and flag accessibility issues including broken links, out of date content, and formatting errors

Research and support other small-scale instructional design, LMS, and digital learning projects as assigned

The Department of Leadership, Library & Information Science, and Research (LLR) invites applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position. This position provides support of faculty-led projects across the department's four program areas: Educational Leadership (doctoral), Library Science, School Administration, and Research. All LLR programs are delivered online, and this position is eligible for fully remote or hybrid work arrangements.

This position will support faculty members with a variety of activities, which may include but are not limited to:

Overview of Position:
The Professional Studies degree program is seeking a teaching assistant for the 2026-2027 academic year. Professional Studies is a multidisciplinary degree designed to allow students to maximize their credits and create a pathway toward a bachelor's of science degree based on their interests and goals. This role will work closely and collaboratively with the director of the Professional Studies program.

Job Duties:

Graduate Research Assistant (GRA): supports faculty-led research through data collection, analysis, and literature review. The role is designed to deepen the student's research competencies while advancing ongoing scholarly projects.

Full-time assistantship (30 weeks/20 hours per week = 600 hours total)
Half-time assistantship (30 weeks/10 hours per week = 300 hours total)
Hourly rate $16.50/hour in Fall/Spring

• Full time Appalachian State graduate student
• Strong analytic skills
• At least 2 years public school teaching experiences
