As a new graduate student, you have access to multiple resources to help you throughout your time at App State.
Child Care
The Lucy T. Brock Child Development Center is available for children of all degree-seeking, full-time App State students.
DegreeWorks
DegreeWorks is a web-based tool that allows you and your advisor to monitor your academic progress toward completion of your graduate program. Learn how you can get the most out of DegreeWorks.
Financial Support
If you intend to enroll in five or more hours, you may be eligible to receive federal aid to assist with funding your education. You must submit the FAFSA and accept your offer of admission to be considered. Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid for more information and check out our financial support page for more ways to offset the cost of attendance.
Finding a Job
Graduate assistantships are a great place to start. All full-time, on-campus degree-seeking students are eligible for assistantships within their departments and in other offices on campus. Student employment is available in other areas of the campus as well.
Finding a Place to Live
We recommend if you are taking classes in Boone that you start looking for a place to live as soon as possible after being admitted. There is no on-campus housing for graduate students. Visit our off-campus housing resource and database to begin searching for your residence.
Graduate Student Life
The Graduate School's Graduate Student Life team provides a wide variety of professional development, health and wellness, social networking, and career development offerings throughout the year. Bookmark the GSL events calendar so that you can stay informed about these opportunities available to both Boone campus and online students. Also look for weekly emails from gradschool@appstate.edu for important information about events and deadlines.

Office of Testing Services
The Office of Testing Services is certified by Educational Testing Service, Pearson VUE, and several private boards to coordinate the administration of more than 15 different standardized testing programs in both computer-based and paper-and-pencil formats. Exams for licensure, certification, and academic admissions are administered throughout the year.
