Welcome to the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies! We represent and serve the students, faculty, and staff in 81 graduate certificate and degree programs, with a current graduate enrollment of approximately 2,000 students. About Ashley ColquittAshley Colquitt

Dr. Ashley Walker Colquitt has an extensive background in higher education, with over 20 years of experience at various public institutions. Prior to Appalachian State, she served as the Dean of the Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies at Georgia Southern University. During her tenure, she played a critical role in assisting the college during the consolidation between Georgia Southern and Armstrong State Universities, overseeing enrollment management operations, and implementing new student success initiatives while working collaboratively with faculty and campus partners.

She has taught and mentored both undergraduate and graduate students while remaining actively engaged in scholarship and service activities. She has been recognized for both her dedication to teaching and service, receiving awards for both.

Dr. Colquitt holds a Ph.D. in Health Studies from Texas Woman's University, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwestern State University. As a first-generation college student, Dr. Colquitt's experiences have influenced her leadership practices in higher education. She believes in providing accessible and affordable graduate education, while prioritizing the preparation of graduate students to meet the needs of their region and state through teaching, scholarly activities, and service.
