Overview of Position:

The Office of Testing Services is now recruiting for the 2025-26 academic year for the position of Testing Services Graduate Student Assistant. Testing Services supports the University's commitment to educational access and excellence by offering a wide variety of both academic and professional certification exams and assessments to university students and faculty, members of our local community, and working professionals from around the region.

Graduate assistants serve as primary coordinators for the test proctoring resource available to faculty who are unable to provide the approved testing accommodations in the classroom. Duties include administrative tasks, test proctoring, and interaction with examinees, faculty, and staff. Administrative duties include scanning and copying, filing, maintaining testing schedule, and other clerical tasks as needed. Student employees are trained and supervised to administer a variety of exams according to national testing standards to maintain integrity, security, and confidentiality of tests and examinees.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with students who are in need of special accommodations (extended time, enlarged text, testing software, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean and quiet atmosphere for testing
  • Work with faculty to obtain materials and return them in a timely manner
  • Assist in the distribution and collection of test materials
  • Actively proctor exams
  • Utilize a confidential electronic database

Qualifications:

  • Current graduate student in good academic standing
  • Available up to 20 hours per week (4-5 hour continuous shifts on scheduled days)

Compensation:
Compensation is $16.00 per hour
