Overview of Position
The Office of Access and Equity (AE) is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the 2024/2025 academic year. The Office of Access & Equity is part of the Division of Institutional Integrity and provides leadership to the University's efforts to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. The office promotes equity in educational opportunity, programming, employment, and an environment of respect and inclusion for all members of the University community. The Office of Access & Equity includes Disability Resources (ODR) and Equal Opportunity (EO). This role will report directly to the Executive Assistant for the Office of Access and Equity. It will be responsible for AE office projects and educational outreach efforts for the department.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain educational resources
  • Communicate with campus partners to coordinate and conduct in-person and Zoom presentations.
  • Work with both ODR and EO staff on office projects
  • Serve as a point of contact for individuals and clearly communicate office procedures
  • Represent AE and various campus programs and events
  • Conduct best practice research on various AE-based topics

Qualifications

  • Manage multiple job duties simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete tasks with competing deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong public speaking and ability to deliver educational training
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve.
  • Available to work at least 4-5 hour continuous shifts on scheduled days as well as occasional after-hours commitments

Hours/Compensation
Compensation is $16.00 per hour.
Up to 20 hours per week within multiple office settings, the AE offices operate Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5:30 pm, within the academic semester. This role may include after hours responsibilities in regards to campus events and presentations.
