Compensation: $20/hr + Flex 75 Meal Plan
Hours: 20 hours per week (75% of hours must be completed M–F, 8 am – 5 pm; 25% of hours may be completed remote and/or outside of normal business hours.)
Position Overview:
Join the Campus Dining team to ensure the accuracy of dietary, allergen, and sustainability data. This role bridges the gap between business analytics and nutrition by auditing menu databases and leading educational outreach to support the health and well-being of the university community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Nutritional Auditing & Data Integrity: Validate nutritive values (macros, sodium, etc.) and allergen data against supplier labels and menu software.
- Sustainability & CO2 Tracking: Assign CO2 emission levels to recipes and analyze how environmental labeling impacts student dining choices.
- Event Planning & Outreach: Design promotional materials, coordinate nutrition-focused events, and host tabling sessions to educate participants on campus dining.
- Staff Training & Development: Develop and deliver training sessions for dining staff on assigned nutrition, allergen, or safety topics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Director of Nutrition, Executive Chef, and Sustainability teams to refine data collection and reporting.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Current App State Graduate Student (Nutrition, Public Health, or related field).
- Skills: High attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and ability to interpret food labels/large datasets.
- Communication: Strong organizational skills and the ability to present information clearly to both staff and students.
- Preferred: Experience with food auditing, nutrition analysis, graphic design (for promos), or public speaking.
