Graduate Assistantship
Description:
Graduate Research Assistant (GRA): supports faculty-led research through data collection, analysis, and literature review. The role is designed to deepen the student's research competencies while advancing ongoing scholarly projects.
Full-time assistantship (30 weeks/20 hours per week = 600 hours total)
Half-time assistantship (30 weeks/10 hours per week = 300 hours total)
Hourly rate $16.50/hour in Fall/Spring
*Work can be completed remotely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Literature Review — Conduct comprehensive searches, summarize scholarly articles, and synthesize findings to inform research design.
- Data Analysis — Clean, code, and analyze data using appropriate tools.
- Manuscript Preparation — Contribute to drafting, editing, and formatting manuscripts, conference proposals, and presentations.
- Professional Engagement — Attend research team meetings, present progress updates, and participate in scholarly discussions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a full-time graduate student at Appalachian State University.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong academic writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to ethical research practices and confidentiality.
