THE POSITION
I am looking for a graduate student to help me with revisions for a new edition of a career and college readiness counseling textbook and instructor's manual (fall semester) as well as with research projects (fall and spring semesters). My research strands include (1) career and postsecondary transition planning, (2) students with disabilities, and (3) school counselor preparation – and some projects target the intersection of one or more of those strands. Much of the work for this position can be completed independently, but the GA will be expected to meet synchronously, in person or via Zoom, on a regular basis. This would be a great position for a student interested in developing research and writing skills and developing instructional support materials.
THE GA WILL
Meet regularly with the supervisor
Check and responding to email on a regular basis
Participate in scholarly writing and research projects (conduct literature reviews, develop reference lists, collect data, etc.)
Assist with the updating of textbook instructional support materials (develop chapter quizzes, slide decks, etc.)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled full time (9+ credit hours per semester) as a graduate student throughout the term of employment
Able to consistently work 10 hours per week to fulfill position responsibilities
Knowledgeable about or willing to learn APA format
Strong writing skills
Attention to detail

POSITION DETAILS AND BENEFITS
Start Date: August 17, 2026
Compensation: $16.50/hour
10 hours per week during the academic year (August 17-December 14 and January 11 -May 10)
Opportunity for renewal for the following academic year, dependent upon department funding allocation and performance
