The Lucy Brock Child Development Lab Graduate Assistant plays a key role in supporting the School teaching and administrative faculty in accomplishing the mission of the lab school. Once orientation is completed, the GA will provide support with the day-to-day operations of the lab school. This includes administrative support for completing necessary requirements for tuition collection, NC Division of Child Development and Early Education mandates, student support staff time sheet oversight, and maintain a waiting list database. Dr. Andrea Anderson, Director of LBCDLS, supervises the GA. The GA and Dr. Anderson will meet weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to School teaching and administrative faculty
  • Coordinate with LB's administrative support to assure that the required paperwork e.g. receipts, times sheet are submitted for budgetary deadlines
  • Monitor and update ProCare (tuition database) weekly to assure that tuition is collected and deposited appropriately
  • Maintain LBCDL's waiting list database and contact families to when waiting list applications are received via mail or e-mail.
  • Complete filing and monitor child and student support staff files to assure LBCDL is compliant with NC DCD EE regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison to families, lab students, and student support staff.
  • Represent LBCDL in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Other duties relevant to the mission of LBCDLS


Compensation and Hours
The Academic Year (AY = Fall 2023 and Spring 2024) assistantships are based on full assistantships (30 weeks at 20 hours average per week = 600 hours total). AY stipends based on a full assistantship salary of $9,500 will be paid at an hourly rate of ~$15.83/hour.
