Supervisor Bio: Dr. Jason Lynch is an Associate Professor in the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University. His research focuses on trauma-informed leadership, organizational trauma, and workplace wellbeing in
higher education. He serves as Executive Editor of the Journal of Trauma Studies in Education and coordinates the Graduate Certificate in Trauma-Informed Leadership. His work centers on advancing trauma-informed practices within colleges and universities through research, leadership development, and professional education initiatives.
Location: Fully remote
Position Overview
This individual will support a portfolio of research, scholarly, and programmatic initiatives related to trauma-informed practice and higher education. Responsibilities may include assisting with ongoing research projects, supporting scholarly publishing activities connected to the Journal of Trauma Studies in Education (JTSE), and contributing to outreach or programming related to the Certificate in Trauma-Informed Leadership.
Depending on project timelines and funding, the GA may also have the opportunity to assist with emerging research initiatives, such as studies examining how community colleges function as anchors for trauma-informed and
resilient communities.

- Familiarity with APA formatting and academic writing conventions

- Comfort and experience quickly learning new technologies/software
Hours/Pay:
10 Hours/Week Assistantship
$16.50 per hour ($4950 per semester/$9000 per year)
