Counseling, Family Therapy, and Higher Education Department Office GA

Position Description:
Office GAs provide support to the administrative unit in the department which consists of the department chairperson and two administrative support specialists. Working in the office is a great opportunity to network with
other students and department faculty.
Duties include:
- Answering phones
- Processing mail
- Word processing, photocopying, and scanning
- Making room reservations
- Maintaining student events calendar
- Preparing departmental newsletter
- Developing and maintaining CEU documentation
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Regular (not provisional) admission to a graduate program at Appalachian; a continuing student must be in good standing.
- Full-time enrollment (9 hours minimum) in a graduate degree program.
- Willing and able to work in-person in our campus office.
- Able to communicate effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students
Compensation:
$4750 for the academic year (15 weeks each semester, 10 hours per week, resulting in an hourly rate of $15.83/hour).
Work Schedule:
Office GAs work 10 hours/week in the form of two five-hour shifts; shifts are 8-1 and 12-5.
