Dr. Peijuan Cao and Dr. Rong Zhang are seeking a dedicated Graduate Research Assistant to join their research team for a project funded by the GRAM Program. The project involves conducting a systematic review of existing research on literacy instructional practices that support multilingual learners in grades K–5.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student (9 credit hours) in the upcoming semesters
  • Background knowledge in K-5 literacy instruction, with a particular interest in multilingual learners' literacy development.
  • Be good in academic standing (preference given to those with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5)
  • Professional writing and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Quantitative data analysis skills or systematic review research experience
  • Background knowledge in culturally responsive pedagogy
  • Literacy-related teaching or research experience

Position Details

  • Compensation: $14,000 for the academic year
  • Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
  • Collaborate closely with Drs. Cao and Zhang on all aspects of the project
  • Engage in professional development focused on literacy research methods
  • Opportunities to participate in conference presentations and co-author publications
