Graduate Assistant Positions (6 - Fall 2025)
Full time (20 hours a week) or half time (10 hours a week)
Department of Child Development, Literacy, and Special Education (CLSE)

Full assistantships (30 weeks at 20 hours average per week = 600 hours total)
Hourly rate of $16.50/hour in Fall.
YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Administration Assistance & Communication
- Assigned CLS office hours
- Check email at least once per day
- Special Assignments
- Materials support for faculty
- Research support for faculty
- Data entry and management for CLS programs
- Management of files
- Additional tasks may emerge based on interest and experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a full-time graduate student at Appalachian State University
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
- Proactive communicator with strong written communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently on assigned projects (ex: does not consistently need explicit examples or extensive project details to start a project)
- Highly organized and able to effectively manage time.
POSITION DETAILS AND BENEFITS
- Start Date: August 18, 2025
- 10 or 20 hours per week (applicant should specify preference) during the academic year (August-May), excluding winter and spring breaks
- Opportunity for renewal dependent upon department funding allocations
