Graduate students at Appalachian State are afforded many opportunities to get involved in the collegiate community. Below are a few options available on campus.
Graduate Student Association Senate (GSAS)
The ASU Graduate Student Association Senate (GSAS) is the main administrative organization for graduate students. It advises the Graduate School on policy and practice. It awards funds for both research and travel to graduate students from departments with active senators. It sponsored a number of social and service activities each semester. Follow them on facebook for more information!
Departmental Graduate Student Groups
Several departments (for example psychology, biology, and HPC) also house graduate student groups specifically for their majors. Ask in your home department!
Other Clubs and Organizations
Most clubs -- and there are many on campus -- are open to all students, including graduate students. The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership maintains a listing of clubs and organizations.
