Distance Education at Appalachian staff is on hand to help you interface with campus resources. Distance Education staff will hold a series of online orientations each semester at which you will receive very important information about your program as well as the university. Please make every effort to attend.
If you are new to Distance Education, whether completely online, hybrid or in a site-based program, the Online Learning 101 Orientation provides great resources and recommendations on technology, fitting your program into your life, the online classroom and student services.
In addition, the Graduate School holds an on-campus orientation each fall and spring in Boone, and you are cordially invited to attend to meet the graduate school staff and learn about the Graduate School policies in person.
Our distance education students are important to us and we want you to feel as much a part of this community as our main campus students. Please let us know how we can serve you. In addition to the excellent staff with Distance Education at Appalachian, graduate school staff are available and happy to answer your questions.
